Rishikesh

Rishikesh or the Yoga City, as foreigners like to call it - Our latest destination - A 3 day trip that included everything from trekking to rafting to body surfing to cliff jumping. This was the second time I was going to rishikesh, the first was when I was just a baby(some call me a baby even now, anyway...).
The photographs speak a thousand words. Live it the way we did! (Almost)

View from Laxman Jhula (Laxman Swing).

It' over 70 years old, so the reinforcement don't allow it to swing the way it used to.
Got a feeling of being in a bird trap though (Jurassic Park fame) !!

Rishikesh is a hub for temples and 'Ghats'

en route Neer Garh Water Falls. It was a 6 km trek, 3 km smooth and 3km rugged.

This would be one of the rapids we would encounter during rafting the next day.

Bright sun and picturesque landscapes called for a prolonged photo session.

Top of the Neer Garh Water Falls - A pool, chilled water - Exactly what's need on a hot summer morning

The downhill trek was pretty easy after the 2 hour cooling off.

We reached teh camp site pretty early in the day and summer hotness galore

Though the water was pretty cool, we immediately went for a dip to cool ourselves off.

The night became as bright as the day with the lovely bonfire setup.

Fun Fact - Scotch and bonfire gel really well !

The camp was lovely but not so when it was time to attend the Nature's call. It was an 'Adventure' in itself

Volleyball sessions(not seen here) were continuous and the cool sand really helped the grip

Some posing here and there is allowed isnt it ? :P

Rafters Ahoy !

Down they go

LIFE Jacket - makes a non swimmer feel, a pretty good one

Thrown off during a 'Rapid', making our way to the beach

Hey hey hey ...you forgot me!

  5. Seems to have been fun. So many tents. Do they manage these many people all at once?

Can imagine the difficulty with attending nature's call, it can be more of an adventure than the actual one :-)
